Music in Birmingham City Centre

Previously named the Carling Academy, Birmingham’s O2 Academy relocated to Bristol Street in 2005. The main room has a 3000 person capacity, showcasing some of the world’s best musical talent. The smaller rooms have a capacity of 600 and 250 for smaller underground bands – you might just get to see the next big thing here. Acts to have played the Academy include Editors, The Streets, The Twang, Ocean Colour Scene, Jamie T and many more.

Birmingham’s Town Hall & Symphony Hall (THSH) are for those who want a more luxurious venue to watch their music and comedy. Symphony Hall in particular is the perfect place to view an orchestra or choir – great for those classical music fans.
