Shopping in Bimingham’s Colmore Business District

The Great Western Arcade (GWA) is a small elegant shopping centre in the business district of Colmore Row. It houses independent shops, boutique stores and eateries. GWA has a unique history which really adds to its charm. Built between 1876 and 1877, the arcade was used as a railway tunnel to connect the stations of Snow Hill and Moor Street. It went through a vast renovation after World War 2 and in 1988 it was voted Birmingham’s favourite building.
GWA is acknowledged for supporting independent retailers across the city. With an incredible array of shops and restaurants, there’s definitely something for everyone.
